Reporting
Brief Accounting features a comprehensive list
of reports to help you draw needed information from your system.
Brief Accounting's reports can be broken down into three main categories:
- Financial Reports
- Management Reports
- Journals
Financial Reports
From the Reports menu you can print a:
- Trial Balance
- Income Statement
- Balance Sheet
In addition, you can print an Aged Receivables
report, or a complete General Ledger showing all transactions to
your Chart of Accounts. As Brief Accounting is always up-to-date,
your accounting reports will always give you an accurate snapshot
of your current financial picture.
Management Reports
Because Brief Accounting was specifically written
for law firms, we include some special reports. These "Management
Reports" go beyond simple accounting data to help you manage and
make decisions.
Brief Accounting will keep track of each lawyer's:
- Hours
- Expenses
- Overall profitability
Our Billings report will provide you with a profile
of every or any individual lawyer at your firm, showing:
- Total hours in progress
- Total hours billed
- Total hours billed & paid, including
invoice numbers.
You can also print a work-in-progress report,
that shows you the value of all Time & Billing slips yet to be invoiced.
Brief Accounting can also print client or matter
lists sorted by various factors (such as all clients introduced
by a specific lawyer, or referred from a specific source).
Journals
The third type of report encompasses such things
as:
- Check registers
- Deposit slips
- Posting reports
- Bank reconciliations
- Trust Journals
These "working documents" are critical to the
day-to-day activities of your firm, recording and tracking your
activities. As an integrated package, Brief Accounting will improve
the efficiency of your entire office.
Reporting Power by Module
As well as using the Reports Menu at the top
of the screen, Brief Accounting offers you the option of printing
a report by clicking the printer button in the screen that is currently
being used. The link below will display just some of the many statements
and reports available within each module.
